The Birrarung Riverfest – Clean Up Event gives paddlers an opportunity to experience all major iconic sights of Melbourne from a unique water-level perspective while giving back to the community and environment.
After a quick briefing and paddling lesson, participants will be kitted up and given clean-up tools and rubbish bags. After getting on the water the guide will lead the group around the Yarra river, pointing out the key landmarks while exploring the amazing waterway and the surrounding region.
During this trip, participants are encouraged to help keep our special Yarra healthy by picking up debris and rubbish. We hope this can give people an insight to the effect modern civilisation has had on what was once a pristine, clear and drinkable river.
